Jerry S. Thompson, age 76 of Salem, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm, in Kindred Hospital – Louisville.

Born March 12, 1939 in Louisville, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Albert and Edith (Troxel) Thompson.

He was a retired farmer, had been a life resident of Washington County and was a former pitcher for the old Smith Cabinet men’s fast pitch softball team.

He married June 1955 to Marilyn S. (Rousey) Thompson, who passed away November 24, 2003. Survivors include: 4 Sons: Terry S. Thompson, Lakeland, Florida, Scott Thompson, Salem, Jerry Thompson II, Jeffersonville and Thomas S. Thompson, Dayton, Ohio; 4 Daughters: Gidget Thompson, Louisville, Kentucky, Tina M. Hacker and Angel D. Lloyd, Salem and Jeri-Lynn Thompson, Pekin; 1 Brother: Danny Thompson, Borden; 12 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 1 brother and 2 sisters.
Funeral Service: 10:30 am Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Goodwin officiating.

Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Monday and after 9 am Tuesday. Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
