“Disco For A Cure”
 
Friday and Saturday, June 8-9, 2018
 
Descriptions of Relay Activities, Games, and Special Laps
 
FRIDAY, June 8 th
 
5:00-8:00p.m.-Luminarias may be purchased.
5:00-Survivor Tent Opens
5:00p.m.- Bidding begins on the silent auction items in the main tent and continues until the
closing ceremony.
5:00p.m.-Concession Stand Opens- Miller Mini Barn tickets may be purchased in the
Concession Stand
6:00 p.m.-Opening Ceremony
Following the prayer, Presentation of Colors, Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem, a message will be
shared with all in attendance at the event. Then the survivors will take to the track as we applaud them every
step of the way. Following the survivors’ lap and caregiver’s lap, each team will be introduced and then will
take a team lap together. Teams need to advertise their on-site fundraisers at this time. Team photos will be
taken at the end of the Opening Ceremony.
7:00-Facebook Photo Scavenger Hunt-Teams may begin the photo scavenger hunt on ou rFacebook page.
7:00-8:00p.m.-Massages for Donation in the Main Tent
Dr. and Mrs. Christopher Mosier from Mosier Family Chiropractor’s Office will be on hand to give massages for
a donation.
7:00 – 9:00 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. – 1:00 a.m. Relay For Life Jail
Were you a little too wild? The police will be arresting Relayers for a donation. Help us raise money to find a
cure for cancer—have someone jailed! Have your friends been locked up? Make a donation to have them
released!
7:30 – 8:00 p.m.-Relay Ladies Contest-Ladies meet on stage at 7:15 to be introduced!
Each Relay team may have one or more contestants in the Relay Ladies Contest. Each participant must be
male and provide his (her ) own outfit. Each contestant will collect donations from Relay goers between 7:30
and 8:00 p.m. only. The top three “ladies” will win a trophy.
7:45-8:15- Water Balloon Fun Time
Come on down for fun with water balloons.
 
8:00-8:15 p.m.-Disco Lap & Costume Contest
Put on your favorite Disco costume and strut around the track. Prizes will be awarded for the most creative
costumes. Style Show will follow the lap on the stage!

8:30-It Only Takes A Minute to Win It!-Come down to play some minute to win it games!
9:00 p.m.-Luminaria Ceremony
This touching ceremony includes music, reading of names and the lighting of luminaria bags as each name is
called. This is a time of respect so we ask that there is no talking or walking throughout the ceremony. Thank
you for your cooperation.
10:30pm-Disco Line Dancing
11:00pm-D J Richie Performance
11:00 pm-11:30 p.m.-Scavenger Hunt
Send some members down for some scavenger hunting fun!
 
11:00 p.m. –11:30p.m.-Judging of Team Batons
Each Team’s decorated baton will be judged based upon creativity and use of our theme: “Give Cancer the
Boot.” Top Three Teams will be awarded a trophy.
 
11:45 p.m.-Cheese Puff Toss
Teams of two will compete as one person places whipped topping all over their face and the other person
attempts to toss as many cheese puffs as possible onto their face (and they have to stick!!).
 
SATURDAY, June 9 th
 
12:00 a.m. -1:00 a.m.
Musical Chairs
Grab a chair and head to our HUGE musical chairs game!
Anaconda
Teams will connect hands and try to move a hula hoop from one end of the line to the other as fast as they
can, all while never letting each other’s hands go!
 
Ball Hop
Hop to the finish line with a ball between your legs. If the ball drops off, you have to start all over again.
Plunger Ball
Each team will use a plunger to transport a ball. One team member will carry a ball down and back….to
another team member, without dropping it. Play continues as you walk and pass the ball to the next people on
your team.
 
Swat the Balloon Relay Race
Teams compete by swatting a balloon down and back on the field, using a fly swatter.

Pajama Contest, followed by Pajama Lap
Prizes will be awarded for both the cutest and the wackiest pajamas. After the contest, show off your
pajamas as you walk around the track.
 
Chip the Ice!
Work together as a team to free the Relay t-shirt from the block of ice. The first team to have a player put the
Relay t-shirt on wins!
1:00-Relayers take to the track with glow sticks in memory of Dana Nicholson
 
1:00 – 7:00 a.m.-Quiet Time
The lights will be dimmed during this time to allow those who wish to rest the opportunity to do so. Walking
continues during this time and soft music will be playing under the main tent to keep spirits high!
7:00 a.m.-Wake up for some Breakfast!
Minute to Win Games
Wheelbarrow Race
Grab your partner by the ankles and run for the finish line!
Shaving Cream Tower
Players will compete to win by creating the highest “tower” on top of their partners’ head….made totally out of
shaving cream!
Chubby Bunny Game
Win this by being the player with the largest mouth. See how many marshmallows you can fit inside your
mouth and still be able to say, “Chubby Bunny!”. Please don’t choke!! 
Balloon Pop
Tie a balloon around your ankle and start stomping! In this action-packed game, you try to pop other people’s
balloons and not get yours popped!!
 
10:00-Closing Ceremony There will be awards and recognition of teams, team captains, sponsors, and
committee members. At the end of the ceremony, we all complete one final “Fight Back” Victory Lap.
