Mr. Irvin Leroy Hamilton, 86, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2019, at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour. He was born in Washington County to the late Theodore and Minnie Hamilton.

Funeral services will be at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Monday, December 9 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Robin Everhart officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 p.m. and Monday from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. A Masonic service will be conducted on Sunday at 4:30 p.m. by FA&M Lodge #146.

On January 1, 1953, Irvin married Beulah Brewer and they enjoyed 66 years together. They enjoyed doing everything together including building or remodeling the family homes together. In their last home, Irvin put his craftsman skills on display by working with Beulah to design their home and complete every inch of woodwork themselves from cutting and staining the wood to shellacking.

Irvin was employed by Cummins for over 33 years before retiring as Foreman of the engine test shop.

He was a U.S. Army veteran. He was a Past Master of Masonic FA&M Lodge #146. Irvin was a dedicated family man and his world revolved around his wife, daughter, granddaughter and great-grandchildren.

Irvin is survived by his daughter, Teresa (Robert) Thompson; granddaughter, Nikki (Jason) Helmuth; great-grandchildren, Remington and Kimber Helmuth; and sister, Marilyn Brewer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beulah Hamilton; brothers, Bobby Hamilton and Tommy Hamilton.
