August 26, 2020, at approximately 3:00 p.m. (EST), Indiana State Police Jasper Sergeant George Wooten was patrolling in northern Spencer County.

While patrolling, he measured the speed of a white Dodge traveling at 95mph on US 231. Wooten then attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle disregarded the marked State Police patrol car, with its emergency lights activated.
