David Alan Hypes, age 74 of Campbellsburg, passed away Wednesday,
February 9, 2022 at 2:45 am, in his residence, surrounded by his family.

Born July 7, 1947 in Claysville, Indiana, he was the son of the late
Reno M. and Leora (Freed) Hypes.

He retired in 2010 as a mechanic with INDOT. He was also a truck driver
for the old Link Handle Company in Salem. He was a member of the First
Baptist Church of Campbellsburg and was a life resident of Washington
County.

David was a life long mechanic and used that gift as a way to be a
blessing to other’s. Over the past few years David would volunteer at
Choices, mow yards and help with home improvement projects of family and
friends. Since his retirement from the state highway garage, fishing
brought a great opportunity to enjoy nature and grow friendships. Most
of all, David loved his family immensely and it was evident in how he
lit up when the grandchildren were around. David loves the Lord and is a
friend of Jesus

On February 18, 1966, David married Brenda Lou (Green) Hypes, who survives.

Also surviving are: 2 Daughters: Rhonda (Frank) Hamman and Donna (Chris)
Wesner; 1 Son: David (Angela) Hypes; 1 Sister: Linda Lou Schocke:
Grandchildren: Jessica R. Hamman, Arien (Keith) Wisley, Breanna (Skyler)
Elkins, Kaitlyn (Taylor) Brown, Kristen Wesner, Bailey Hypes and
Gabrielle Hypes. 7 Great Grandchildren, including one on the way and
several nieces and nephews, this included his neice: LuAnne (Williams)
Yandow, who lived with them for a time.

He was preceded in death by sister: Vivian Jean (Hypes) Williams,
brother-In-Law: Barney Schocke, nephew: Alan Eugene Williams and
granddaughter: Ariel Dawn Wesner.

Funeral Service: 2 pm Saturday at Dawalt Funeral Home, followed by
interment in Claysville Cemetery.

Visitation: 11 am until the time of the service on Saturday.
