Kentuckiana’s best country music performers will take the first step toward winning a $100,000 grand prize in the 2014 Country Showdown presented by 1220 AM WSLM COUNTRY at the Ross Country Jamboree in Scottsburg, IN on Sunday, August 3 at 1p.

Participants must be registered with official Country Showdown materials by Saturday, August 2, 2014.


“WSLM 1220 AM is proud to partner with Ross Country Jamboree to bring the Country Showdown to Scottsburg,” said Rebecca White, Owner and General Manager of WSLM. “We realize there are many talented country musicians in the Southern Indiana and Louisville, Kentucky area, and this showdown gives these bands and individuals a chance to showcase their musical talents.”

Bands and individual groups will perform during the three-hour show and one act will be selected by a panel of judges to advance.

The winner of the WSLM event will advances to the State Finals, and a location and date for that event have not yet been selected. The top prize is $1,000.

The winner of the State Finals earns a berth in the Regional Finals. Regional winners advance to the National Finals, where a grand prize of $100,000 will be awarded to the winner.

The National Finals will be held at Ryman Auditorium, the historic home of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.

The one-time entry fee is $20.

Tickets to the event in August are $10 each. Concessions will be available before and during the competition.
