Crash Kills Sellersburg Cyclist, 67

A crash this afternoon between a Jeep Cherokee and and a motorcyclist leaves one dead and one in the hospital.

Johnny E. Ferrill, 67, of Sellersburg, driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash was reported at 1:19 p.m. on State Road 60, at the intersection of Motsinger Road. The caller originally reported an erratic driver about seven minutes earlier and the fact the driver might possibly be intoxicated.

According to Deputy Scott Schocke of the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the driver of an eastbound 2004 Jeep Cherokee ran off the right side of the roadway, then came back onto the highway.

The driver, Brooke Bunch, 31, Pekin, then crossed into the left bound lane, colliding with the motorcycle.

Bunch was transported by helicopter ambulance from the scene to University of Louisville Hospital.

The Washington County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the accident.
