The third and final at-large suspect wanted for Monday’s double slaying north of Paoli is now in custody.
This morning at approximately 9:00 A.M., Indiana State Police arrested John R. Carpenter, 35, Marengo, on Heidelberg Road, north of Fairview Church Road, in Harrison County, Indiana.
After setting up and maintaining a perimeter overnight of the area, Troopers, investigators searched a barn, where he was ultimately located.
Carpenter was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Orange County Jail in Paoli.
Carpenter will join the other two suspects believed to be involved in the Monday shooting that killed Nicholas Fields and Corey Michael Harris and injured Daniel Smitson.


Elbert Brooks was arrested Tuesday evening while James Davidson was arrested Friday Evening.
