A 31-year-old Austin woman was arrested yesterday afternoon after a hit and run accident involving a jogger.
The driver, later identified as Carrie Brough, 31, from Austin, fled the scene by getting a ride with a passing motorist without checking on the injury status of Chris Fugate.
Yesterday afternoon, Chris Fugate, 43, of Austin, was jogging west on Booe Road in Austin when he was struck by a vehicle that was travelling east.
After striking Chris Fugate, Brough crashed her gray 2001 Saturn into a yard south of the roadway.
When an officer arrived on scene he found Chris Fugate injured, lying on the ground, in a ditch, on the north side of the roadway.
He was transported to the University of Louisville Hospital in Louisville, KY with non-life threatening injuries.
Brough was arrested later, without incident, after she was located by officers at a residence on Water Tower Road just north of Austin in Scott County.
She was charged with Leaving the Scene of a Personal Injury Crash, D Felony and Driving While Suspended, A Misdemeanor. She was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
