The First Harrison Bank in Hardinsburg was robbed this morning at approximately 9a, according to Washington County Chief Deputy Sheriff Roger Newlon.
Newlon said one white adult male entered the bank at approximately 9a and asked the teller for money. He allegedly told the teller he had a weapon but Newlon said no gun was displayed.
Newlon said officers recovered items at the scene that could have belonged to the suspect.
The description from witnesses said the white male was wearing a zippered hoodie with a scruffy goatee. Newlon said the suspect appeared to witnesses to be in his early 20s.
Newlon said he hoped to release additional information later this afternoon.
