The Feinstein Foundation has suspended its annual $1 Million Giveaway to Fight Hunger for 2015 until further notice in order to concentrate on its ever increasing number of
Feinstein Jr. Scholars, now over 150,000 strong, pledged to help better the lives of others.
As a result, the Washington County Food Bank will loose out on thousands of dollars in matching funds it generated thanks to the Challenge each spring.
Started in 1998, the annual Feinstein $1 million giveaway to anti hunger agencies to use as a spur for their fund raising, has generated over $2.5 billion to feed the hungry from
thousands of donors throughout the country and overseas. It is likely the largest amount of money ever raised by any grass roots effort to fight hunger.
The Washington County Food Bank is in dire need of help and support. Any non-perishable food items can be brought to the food bank on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9a – 3p.
