A Washington County man was arrested Friday on charges of rape that allegedly occured at the Posey Township Firehouse #2.
Kelby Arthur Hash, 21, 7720 Radcliff Road, Hardinsburg, was taken into custody on Friday by the Indiana State Police and booked into the Washington County Jail. Hash is charged with Rape, a Level Three Felony, and is being held on a $20,000 full cash bond.
According to the Indiana State Police, on January 8, 2015, an adult female contacted Harrison County Sheriff’s Detective Shane Mason and alleged she was raped on December 13, 2014 while on a date with a local volunteer firefighter.
The victim alleged she had met the suspect, Hash, and had agreed to meet him for a date. The victim stated that while on the date she was taken to the Posey Township Firehouse #2 located at 333 East U.S. Highway 150 in Hardinsburg, Indiana.
The victim alleged that she was raped while they were alone at the firehouse.
After determining that the alleged crime took place in Washington County, Detective Dave Mitchell of the Indiana State Police in Sellersburg was contacted. Detective Mitchell continued the investigation, and, as a result of his investigation, an arrest warrant was issued by the Washington County Circuit Court for Mr. Hash.
