IU SOUTHEAST FREE OUTDOOR SUMMER POPS FESTIVAL JUNE 12

Indiana University Southeast, Chancellor Ray Wallace, and the Paul W. Ogle Cultural and Community Center invite the Southern Indiana and Louisville Metro communities to a free outdoor Summer Pops Festival on Friday,June 12 at the new Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County Amphitheater located behind the Ogle Center on the IU Southeast campus, 4201 Grant Line Road in New Albany.

Gates open and family events including a magician, face painting, and basketball will begin at 5:00 p.m.unnamed

Exhibitors will include the Louisville Zoo, the IU Southeast Fine Arts Department, and hot air balloons.

Food vendors will include Mark’s Feed Store, Jimmy John’s, Zaxby’s, and Sweet Frog.

Formal dedication of the new Horseshoe Foundation of Floyd County Amphitheater will take place at 6:00 p.m.

At 7:00 p.m., the IU Southeast Orchestra, Concert Band, and Commonwealth Brass Band will present a program of popular and patriotic music.

The Amphitheater is located in the Hickory lot behind the Ogle Center.

Chairs and restroom facilities will be available. Patrons are welcome to bring their own chairs, blankets, and coolers. NOTE: IU Southeast is an alcohol-free and tobacco-free campus. Tobacco and alcohol will not be permitted.

A rain date for the event has been set for Sunday, June 14 at 5:00 p.m.
