Janet Richardson, age 84 of Salem, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at 7:17 am in her residence.
Born October 20, 1930 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late August Frederick and Catherine (Davis) Fehse.
She was a registered nurse with Salem Community Schools for 27 years and also worked for Dr. Donald Martin and the old Washington County Memorial Hospital.
She was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, the church choir and the Salem United Methodist Women and Mission Committee. She was a member of the Women’s Study Club, Tri Kapp Associates, the Hospital Auxiliary, Salem Retired Teachers Association and the Gideons Auxiliary.
She married September 12, 1953 to George N. Richardson Jr., who passed away December 23, 2014.
Survivors include: 1 Son: Daniel (Cheryl) Richardson, Crossville, Tennessee; 2 Daughters: Marcia (Dr. Richard) Grassmyer, Salem and Susan (Russell) Record, Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Catherine Fisher, Elizabeth Brown and Florence Emily Fehse.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Rev. Douglas S. Finney officiating.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Thursday and after 9 am Friday.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
