Indiana true freshman safety Jonathan Crawford earned Big Ten co-Freshman of the Week honors, the conference announced Monday. He is the first Hoosier to collect the award since linebacker Tegray Scales on Sept 22, 2014.

Crawford became the first IU true freshman since Mitchell Evans in 2007 to record a pair of interceptions in a single game as the Hoosiers defeated Western Kentucky,38-35. Both of the INTs led to touchdowns. The first halted a Western Kentucky drive at the Indiana 3-yard line and on the very next pass by WKU quarterback Brandon Doughty, Crawford collected interception No. 2 and returned it 15 yards to the Hilltoppers 22-yard line.

Indiana is 3-0 for the first time since 2010 and the 16th time in school history. The Hoosiers take a four-game winning streak, the program’s longest since 1993 (four),

into Winston-Salem, N.C., to face Wake Forest on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 12:30 p.m. EDT and the ACC Network will broadcast the game.
