Salem Police Department and Washington County EMS responded to a multi-vehicle accident at the intersection of State Road 60 and State Road 160 East this morning at approximately 6:05a.
According to SPD Officer Chris Cauble, a Chevy S-10 pickup was traveling eastbound and had stopped to turn on 160 East.
The truck was then struck by another vehicle, which Cauble said, was travelling too fast, and clipped a sign and drove into a ditch by Peerless Gear.
“This shoved the truck into the westbound path of a semi trailer from Columbus,” said Cauble. “It was early morning work traffic and everyone’s in a hurry. One things goes wrong and starts a chain reaction.”
The driver of the car in the ditch walked up the embankment and scared a motorist, according to Cauble. This person locked up their brakes and was rear-ended by another car.
According to Cauble, all motorists refused medical treatment.
