“I am honored to have earned the support of the men and women who wear the blue and the brown uniforms, the brave men and women who serve and protect us every day,” said Zoeller. “As Attorney General, I have worked closely with Indiana’s law enforcement community to protect and defend Hoosiers and as a member of the United States House of Representatives public safety will to be my top priority in Congress.”

Zoeller is serving his second term as Indiana’s Attorney General having been first elected in 2008 and reelected in 2012 with the largest vote total of any candidate that year.  As Attorney General, Zoeller works with members of law enforcement and county prosecutors and represents the state in all courts throughout Indiana.

Indiana State FOP President Tim Downs said, “Greg Zoeller has been a champion of Indiana’s law enforcement community and we know he will continue to be in Congress. We have always been able to count on Greg to provide the tools necessary for us to do our jobs and protect Hoosiers.”

The Indiana State FOP cited as reasons for their endorsement Zoeller’s work in helping to get Narcan into the hands of law enforcement to combat drug overdoses as well as his work on behalf of prescription drug abuse prevention.

Additionally, Zoeller:

  • Created the Prescription Drug Abuse Prevention Task Force and serves as Co-Chair,
  • Supported the Scott and Clark County syringe exchange programs,
  • Successfully upheld the synthetic drug ruling,
  • Urged Congress to address opioid and heroin addiction
  • Supported Human Trafficking Legislation
  • Secured funding for School Resource Officers

Toby Deaton, who serves as the Indiana FOP southeast Indiana trustee that includes counties in the 9th Congressional District noted, “During his years as Attorney General, Greg Zoeller has supported our members and we look forward to supporting him as our candidate for the United States House of Representatives.”

The initial announcement of the endorsement was made at the Jeffersonville FOP Lodge 100 in Jeffersonville, Indiana. A tour will take place today and tomorrow at the venues listed below.
