Salelm Police, Washington County EMS and the Salem Fire Department responded to a two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon about 12:19p on State Road 60 and Botts Lane.
According to SPD Officer Terry Corbin, a 2002 Chevy Silverado was driving westbound on Jackson. The vehicle was driven by Mark Stowers of Salem.
As he entered intersection, a 2004 Buick Century driven by Ima Jane Hoskins, of Pekin, pulled out from Botts Lane onto Jackson Street.
“As she did, her vehicle was struck by Stowers,” said Corbin. “She veered to right down the embankment and onto property owned by Edward D. Jones.”
Corbin said she didn’t see Stowers coming. “Someone had motioned her to pull out,” said Corbin.
Corbin said Hoskins was transported to St. Vincent by ambulance whee she was treated and released.
