Pauline Diedrich Powell, age 100, passed away peacefully on
Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Indiana.
She was born on March 20, 1915 in Central Barren, Indiana to David and Flora
(Wenning) Diedrich.
She was married to Vernon Powell and he proceeded her in death.
Pauline was a retired theater manager and she enjoyed reading and crocheting.
She is survived by eight grandchildren, Valerie Childs, Stephen Childs, Deborah
Childs, Stephanie McClanahan, Mike Childs, Cherie Powell, Kimberly Welch and
Butch Herthel. Two step-daughters, Sandy St.Clair and Jeanne Durbin. Along with
18 great grandchildren, 36 great great grandchildren and one great great great
She is proceeded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, Charles Herthel,
one daughter, Jeannette Peevey, one brother John Diedrich, one granddaughter,
Pam Herthel and one great grandson, Shawn Childs.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Love
Funeral Home in Palmyra, Indiana. Burial will follow in Central Barren Cemetery in
Central Barren, Indiana. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until the hour of
service at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday at Love Funeral Home.
