Robert W. “Bob” Puckett, age 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family Wednesday, March 2, 2016. He was born May 26, 1923 in Louisville, Kentucky to the late Robert & Lillian (Best) Puckett.
Bob married Lucy “Jane” Bohannon on March 15, 1946. To that union, 2 daughters were born.
Bob retired from International Harvester, Louisville, KY, where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of Old Capital United Methodist Church, Corydon, IN and a former member of Auburndale Baptist Church, Louisville, KY. He was a graduate of Fairdale High School and a WWII veteran. He also was a member of Suburban Masonic Lodge #740.
His favorite hobby was baseball. He was a former semi-pro baseball player in the Louisville Area. He also was an avid fan of the New York Yankees & Atlanta Besides being survived by his wife, Jane, Bob is survived by two daughters: Donna (Tom) Whistler of Corydon and Linda (Larry) Bailey of Palmyra. Five grandchildren, Scott (Shane) & Cory (Julia) Whistler, Rhett & Alex (Kristen) Bailey & Antoinette (Jeff) Berg and four Great-grandchildren
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Russell Lee “Bud” Cremation was chosen.
Visitation will be Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 1 – 4 pm at Love Funeral Home with a memorial service to follow at 4 pm.
