Jewell M. Hollen, age 92 of Salem, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 12:20 am, in the Meadow View Health Care Center.
Born August 31, 1923 in Birdseye, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Ollie and Nova (Sinclair) King. She was a homemaker. She married December 14, 1939 to Edward W. Hollen, who passed away April 12, 1998 .
Survivors include: 5 Sons: Donnie C. Hollen, Kermit D. Hollen, Dennis E. Hollen Sr., David N. Hollen and Steve K. Hollen, all of Salem; 1 Brother: Everett King, Huntingburg; 1 Sister: Nova Landis, Texas and along with her children, she helped raise 2 of her 20 grandchildren, Cindy Levering and Dennis Hollen Jr. She is also survived several great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 daughters; Wilma Howell, Camella Smith and Janice White, 1 grandson, Anthony Hollen, 2 granddaughters, Teresa Smedley and Susan Lee and 2 brothers; Dean and Ivan King.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Sunday and after 9 am Monday.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
