The Scott County Sheriff’s Department is now hiring for the position of Deputy Sheriff which is a full-time position.
WORK SCHEDULE:
(Varies / 24 Hour Public Service Operation)
QUALIFICATIONS
21 years of age; Completion of required Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Training:
Ability to complete other required training as needed. Possession of a valid Indiana
Driver’s License and be in good standing with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
APPLICATION PROCESS
Candidates can obtain a Scott County Employment Application from the Scott County Auditor’s Office from 8:30 to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The Application must be submitted to the Auditor’s office by 4:30 pm on May 13th, 2016.
Basic Skills Test: A written test for the job of Deputy Sheriff for all Non Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Graduates will be administered on Saturday May 21st, 2016.
Applicants are to arrive at the Scott County Courthouse in the Commissioner’s meeting room (1st Floor) to take the test.
All applicants must submit an application on or before May 13th, 2016 by 4:30 pm in the Auditors Office to be eligible to take the test. Registration will begin at 9:30 am and the written test will begin promptly at 10:00 am.
Applicants must arrive prior to 10:00 am and the test begins promptly at 10:00 am. This exam will require approximately two and one half (2 1/2) hours of time.
Applicants are to bring an Indiana Drivers License to verify identity at the test site. Applicants who are not Indiana Law Enforcement graduates MUST attend the test set to proceed in the selection process. Interviews will be conducted by Sheriff’s Department officials once tests have been sent off and scored.
