Joy Dunbar Minton, 82, of Paoli, passed away Monday, June 20, 2016, at her home.  She was born October 12, 1933 in Bedford, IN to Lincoln and Leo Blackburn Dunbar.   She married Benjamin Harold Minton on November 6, 1954 which was the anniversary of their first date, and he survives.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Jayne Purlee Milburn, brother Ty Dunbar and niece Diana Dunbar Briscoe.

Joy graduated from Huron High School with the class of 1951 and was employed by Farlow-Clements Agency where she worked as a secretary and real estate agent and retired in 1995.  She was also a member of Paoli United Methodist Church and Saving Historic Orange County.

Joy and Harold moved to Paoli in 1960 at which time she became a lifelong Paoli Ram fan and Pride of Paoli backer. Thanks to Dave, Bert, and Barry for bringing the Rams into her home when she became unable to attend games and the newspaper for the coverage of the Rams and pictures of the Pride of Paoli.  Anyone who knew Joy knew that she was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.

2 Sons: Matt Minton and wife Sharon, Indianapolis, IN and           Marty Minton and wife Pam, Paoli, IN; 1 daughter, Melanie Flick and husband Bill of Paoli, IN

Surviving Joy are her greatest pride and joy, her five grandsons and five great-grandchildren.  Grandsons Josh and Amanda Flick of Corydon, IN, Ben and Molly Flick of Indianapolis, IN, Ty, Davis, and Clay Minton of Paoli, IN, and great-grandchildren Gabe and Lydia Flick of Indianapolis, IN, and Benjamin Flick and Kei and Dane Inman of Corydon, IN. Also surviving Joy are three nephews Dana and Brenda Dunbar, Dennis Dunbar, Dwight and Kathy Dunbar, and niece Dawn and Dee Duncan all of Mitchell, IN.

We are sure as she left this earth she was saying “Go Cubs!” and “Go Rams!”

Funeral Services will be held 11 am, Saturday, June 25, 2016 at the Paoli United Methodist Church, 794 E State Road 56, Paoli, IN with interment to follow at the IOOF Cemetery, Paoli, IN.  Visitation to be held Friday, June 24, 2016 from  4 PM until 8 PM and 9 AM until the time of service on Saturday at the Paoli United Methodist Church, Paoli, IN.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be made to the Orange County Community Foundation (OCCF) for the Backpack for Blessings for Paoli students at OCCF, 112 W Water Street, Paoli, IN, 47454.
