Verna (Rudolph) Emerson age 92, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Salem Crossing on Sunday, June 19, 2016.
Verna was born in Palmyra, Indiana on December 4, 1923 to George Rudolph and Blanche (Libka) Rudolph. Verna married Charles Emerson on August 28, 1941.
She was a member of the Indian Creek Baptist Church in Georgetown. Verna retired from the ICI Powder Plant in Charlestown. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and cooking for her family. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Emerson on Feb. 9, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son Thomas Emerson, granddaughter Nicole Emerson, 1 sister Eulla Rudolph, and 2 brothers Earl and Alan Rudolph.
Verna is survived by 3 brothers : Norris Rudolph, Arvile Rudolph, and Melvin Rudolph, 5 sisters: Virginia Haub, Frances Stinnett, Georgia Eveslage, Darlene Lang, and Carol Sue Smith. Four grandchildren Amanda Yates, Valerie Lee, Tyler Emerson, and Austin Emerson. Six great grandchildren also survive.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday June 22, 2016 at the Love Funeral Home in Palmyra with burial in the Wolfe Cemetery in Georgetown, IN. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2 pm to 8 pm and after 9 am Wednesday at the Love Funeral Home in Palmyra.
