Congratulations to Melissa Nicholson is the August 2016 Teacher of the Month.
This is her 4th year teaching here at Salem.
She teaches 4thgrade.
Melissa was “nominated” by two different people. One was a staff member and the other was a grandparent of a student.
This is the comment from the grandparent:
Mrs. Nicholson—Mrs. Nicholson is my grandson’s 4th grade teacher this year. I would like to thank her for doing something I have never seen nor heard of a teacher do in the past.
Mrs. Nicholson left a message for my daughter and this is what she said:
Hi Michelle, this is Mrs. Nicholson. I just want to call and let you know that he is on Friday five this week. Here’s what that is; I call five parents of five students who have done something wonderful or a really good job throughout the week. He is on Friday five today because he helped another student with Math this week that was having a hard time and I really appreciate it. Thank you very much Mrs. Nicholson our family really appreciates you honoring him and other children like this.
This is the second note from a teacher:
Melissa Nicholson–She ALWAYS has something positive to say at the end of the day to her students when they are getting on the bus. She always sends her students home on a positive note!
