Mrs. Ruth A. Hazelwood age 91 of Salem passed away Sunday, September 11 at Salem Crossing.
Mrs. Hazelwood was born August 4, 1925 in Clark County, Indiana the daughter of Byron and Rosa Pixley Vangilder. She was a member of a non-denominational church and a homemaker.
Ruth was preceded in death by her husband: Harvey Jackson. She then married Bill Hazelwood and he also preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by three sons: Marshall, Larry and Harvey T. Jackson, two brothers: John and Carl Vangilder, a sister: Florence Renn and her parents.
She is survived by four sons: Kenny Jackson of Fort Wayne, Darrel Jackson of Salem, Mike Jackson of Texas and Herbie Hazelwood of Kentucky, three daughters: Betty Dye of Fort Wayne, Rosemary Albertson of Texas and Denise Young Miller of Salem, 19 grandchildren and several great and great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30AM at Weathers Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Willey’s Chapel (Forest Grove) Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4-8PM and Wednesday from9AM-time of service.
