With the first official practices beginning later this week, the Purdue men’s and women’s basketball programs are giving fans the chance to meet the teams this weekend.
The two squads will hold their Lafayette Community Tipoff on Saturday, beginning at 1 p.m. ET at Riehle Plaza near the downtown Lafayette train depot.
Fans can meet the team, get autographs and photos taken from their favorite players, play tailgate games with the Boilermakers and hear head coaches Matt Painter and Sharon Versyp talk about the upcoming season.
Free giveaways will be available while Purdue Pete and the Purdue cheerleaders will make an appearance.
In addition, the men’s team will be selling $10 student tickets to community members for the Jan. 1, contest against Minnesota, while tickets to a women’s game against Ohio State on Jan. 15, will be available for $5.
These deals will not be available online and will only be available at Saturday’s event, men’s basketball fan day on Oct. 22, and women’s basketball fun day on Oct. 23.
This will also be the first chance for fans to pick up their 2016-17 official Purdue men’s (first in a set of three) and women’s (first in set of two) basketball schedule posters.
