Michael V. Dixon, 66, of Orleans, passed away on October 18, 2016 at
Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, Ill.
He was born November 26, 1949 in Bedford, IN, the son of Mansel and Dorothy
(Payton) Dixon.
He married Kim Noblitt on December 23, 1975 and she survives.
He was a member of the Orleans Christian Church, Orleans American Legion
Warren Brock Post 69, Orleans Masonic Lodge 153 and past member of the
Fraternal Order of Police. He served as the town superintendent in Orleans for
eight years and spent many years in law enforcement. He was of the graduating
class of 1967 from Shawswick High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his wife, Kim Dixon of Orleans; one son, Josh Dixon (Lisa) of
Orleans; one daughter, Holly Hudelson (Ben) of Orleans; three grandchildren,
Reece Dixon, Faith Dixon and Jack Hudelson; two brothers, Richard Dixon of
Orleans and Tim Dixon of Bedford; one sister, Susan McCain of Paoli.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Rosalee Dixon.
The funeral will be October 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Orleans Christian Church
in Orleans with Brother Thomas Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview
Cemetery, Orleans with military rites conducted by the Orleans American Legion
Post 69.
Friends are invited to visitation at the Unity Hall on Sunday from 2:00 to 8:00 PM
and there will be a masonic service at 7:30.
