A 29-Year-Old Campbellsburg Man was killed this morning in a motorcycle crash on State Road 60 West.
Hank L. Stevens (29) of Campbellsburg, IN was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Washington ounty Sheriff’s Deputy Ryan Larrimore, the accident occured at approximately 10:16 AM Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Department being dispatched to State Road 60 at the intersection of West Washington School Road regarding a motor vehicle crash.
Deputies learned during their investigation and witness statements that a tan, 2000, Toyota, 4-Runner (suv) driven by Helen Chastain (78) of Salem, IN had been traveling west on State Road 60 when she turned south onto West Washington School Road.
As Chastain was turning she turned into the path of a black, 2005, custom built motorcycle traveling east on State Road 60 driven by Stevens.
Stevens was ejected from the motorcycle and was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Larrimore, Stevens was not wearing a helmet.
Chastain was transported to Saint Vincent’s Hospital, Salem where she was treated and released for minor injuries.
Washington County Sheriff’s Department was assisted at the scene by Washington County EMS, Salem Fire Department, Campbellsburg Fire Department, and the Washington County Coroner’s Office.
