Harrison County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on Interstate 64 on Friday morning in the westbound lane at mile marker 101.
A silver Mitsubishi passenger car was traveling east on I-64 when it side swiped a tractor trailer also traveling east bound.
Evidence at the scene indicated this caused the passenger car to swerve and over-correct, causing the vehicle to cross the interstate median into the west bound lane of travel.
The passenger car then struck a Ford pickup truck head on.
The driver of the Mitsubishi was pronounced dead on the scene and the two occupants of the Ford truckk were transported to U of L Hospital for medical treatment.
The accident remains ongoing as police are awaiting toxicology results.
