JOB POSTING:
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office is seeking qualified applicants for multiple part-time CORRECTIONS OFFICER positions. Scott County recently constructed a state of the art, pod style, jail facility. The new construction adds 136 beds to the already 58 bed facility bringing the total bed count to 194. New Corrections Officer positions have been added to the current jail staff to maintain daily operations of the newly constructed facility.
SALARY
2016 Corrections Officer hourly wage is $15.80 an hour.
WORK SCHEDULE:
(Varies / 24 Hour Public Service Operation)
QUALIFICATIONS:
This position will primarily be responsible for monitoring inmates, transporting and searching inmates, including the possibility of strip searches. In addition, applicants must be able to perform all essential functions of the job. A copy of the complete job description is available from the Auditor’s office and may be obtained at the time of application; 21 years of age; Ability to complete required training as needed. Possession of a Valid Indiana Driver’s License and be in good standing with the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Candidates can obtain a Scott County Employment Application from the Scott County Auditor’s Office from 8:30 to 4:30 pm. The Application must be submitted to the Auditor’s office by 12:00 pm, Friday, December 2nd, 2016.
BASIC SKILLS TEST:
A written test for the job of Corrections Officer will be administered at a later date and applicants will be notified of the test date, time, and location. Applicants MUST attend the test session to proceed in the selection process. Interviews will be conducted by Sheriff’s Office officials once tests have been sent off and scored.
