Gilda Marie (Ash) Thompson, age 58, passed away at home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016.
She was born on February 13, 1958 in New Albany, Indiana to Melvin and Joyce Ash. She married Robert “Bob” Thompson on February 14, 1988 and they celebrated 28 years together. Gilda was also a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Salem, Indiana.
Gilda spent her years as a medical transcriptionist and receptionist for the office of Drs. Carty and Kemker Family Medicine in Salem, IN.
She loved music and taught piano in her spare time. She also loved Christmas and adored her dog and constant companion, Daisy.
Gilda is survived by her husband, Robert Thompson of Fredericksburg, her mother, Joyce Ash of Depauw, her father, Melvin Ash and step mother, Sherry Ash of English, sisters: Denise (Rex) Griffiths, Stephanie Larson, brothers: Tim (Josie) Ash, Jeff (Angie) Ash, 3 step-children: Brian (Gretchen) Thompson, Brad Thompson, Brent (Amber) Thompson, and 4 grandchildren: Zachary Deutsch, Nicholas LeBlanc, Destiny and Gracie Thompson.
She is preceded in death by 2 sisters: Dorcas and Theresa Ash, and twin grandbabies.
Her funeral will be Monday, November 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Love Funeral Home. Visitation will be at Love Funeral Home on Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 2-8 p.m. and Monday, November 28, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. till time of service. Burial will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery.
