Louis J. Korff, Jr, age 88 of Salem, passed away Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 8:35 am, in Salem Crossing.
Born August 22, 1928 in Evansville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Louis Korff Sr. and Helen (Kress) Korff.
He was a 1946 graduate of Jasper High School and a 1952 graduate of the University of Mississippi.
He was a member of the St. Patrick Catholic Church, the old Washington County Memorial Hospital Board for 20 years, a board member of Hoosier Uplands and served on the Salem City Council.
Louie served during WWII and the Korean Wars as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, was a former Company Commander of the Salem National Guard Unit and a member of the Salem V.F.W. Post #6636, the Salem American Legion Cecil Grimes Post #41, the Salem Moose Lodge #2380 and the K of C.
He was Vice President and General Manager at Kimball Office for over 30 years.
Louie married December 29, 1951 to Dorothy M. (Heeke) Korff, who passed away April 21, 2009.
Survivors include: 1 Son: Jay Korff III, Salem; 3 Daughters: Lana K. (Scott Groeger) Dougherty, Evansville, Gina L. Naugle and Ava J. Kinney, Salem; 7 Grandchildren: Chad (Jennifer) Korff, Eric Korff, Kyle Dougherty, Jacob Korff, Lindsey (Chris) Wieck, Andrea (Jason England) Kinney, Allison Kinney and 1 Great-grandchild: Owen Wieck. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter Rhonda Korff and 1 granddaughter Renea Korff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.
Visitation: 2 to 8 pm Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home and 2 to 8 pm Sunday at Becher & Kluesner Funeral Home in Jasper.
Interment at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
