The Scottsburg City Police Department is actively investigating vandalism to gravestones at the Scottsburg Cemetery located at Beechwood Park.
Officers were contacted on January 2, 2017 by a relative who found anti-Semitic graffiti spray painted in white paint on his grandparent’s headstone.
Officers searched the cemetery and located two other stones covered in white spray paint, and contacted a cemetery board member to have affected families contacted and the stones cleaned.
Our department is currently following leads of possible suspects, but is asking for the community’s assistance in finding the suspects in this crime.
