Edith Aileen Pennington, age 86 of Salem, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at 1:55 am, in her residence.
Born November 3, 1930 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Wincel and Rose (Cole) Knight.
She retired in 1982 from the old B.F. Goodrich Company after 27 years. She was a member of the Walnut Grove Christian Church, had been a life resident of Washington County, was a graduate of Hardinsburg High School and loved quilting in her free time.
She married September 18, 1957 to Charles Eddie Pennington, who passed away March 14, 2002.
Survivors include: Daughter: Patricia Walton, Ocala, Florida; Stepdaughter: Twyla Sparks, Jeffersonville; 2 Sons: Mike (Paula) Pennington and Steve (Sherri) Briscoe, Salem; 6 grandchildren: Roger, Brad and Michael Paul Pennington, Lori Beth Menietti, Daniel Briscoe, Kelly Zellers and 9 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Clifford, Calvin and Bill Knight, 2 sisters: Linda Rivers and Jean Gorman and 1 grandson, Chris Walton.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Monday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Sunday and 9 to 11 am Monday.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
