The Stevens Museum at the John Hay Center will be closed from Tuesday, September 5 through Monday, September 11 for a joint construction project with Duke Energy.
“We apologize for any inconvenience and the short notice but we are working on Duke Energy’s schedule to complete the project before the Old Settlers Days festival,” said Jeremy Elliott, Washington County Historian.
Elliott said the museum will reopen for regular business hours on Tuesday, September 12.
The temporary closing will not effect the Depot train museum but the Stevens Museum and the Pioneer Village will be closed for the duration.
Old Settlers Days will be taking place at the museum Sept. 16 and 17.
