Robert Jerome Gettelfinger, age 96, resident of Corpus Christi, Texas,
passed away Saturday, December 23, 2017.
Robert was born October 23, 1921 at New Albany, Indiana to the late Raymond P. and Omega Margaret Schmidt Gettelfinger, Sr.
Robert was retired from Education Testing Service, Princeton, New Jersey, and an Air Force Veteran of WW II, decorated with Distinguish Flying Cross and Legion of Merit, retiring as an Air Force Colonel.
He also was a Catholic Church Deacon.
Also, preceding him in death were his wife, Doris F. Meiman Gettelfinger:
brothers; John B., Daniel J., Raymond P. Gettelfinger, Jr: sister; Jane F.
Block.
Surviving are sons: Dr. Dennis M. Gettelfinger (Lynne) of Mt. Pleasant,
SC; Geoffrey J. Gettelfinger (Lori) of Princeton Junction, NJ: Daughters;
Nancy M. and Joan T. Gettelfinger, of Corpus Christi, TX: Brother; Ralph
F. Gettelfinger, Clarksville, IN: Sister; Mary E. Mattingly (William) of
Jeffersonville, IN; Five Grandchildren.
Funeral 11 A.M. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at Saint Bernard Catholic
Church, 7600 Hwy 337 NW, Depauw, IN with burial in the church
cemetery.
Visitation 2 – 8 P.M. Friday and after 9 A.M. Saturday at Swarens Funeral
Home, 1405 Hwy 64 NW, Ramsey, IN.
