Corydon Woman Arrested After Traffic Stop Yields Heroin, Pills and Paraphernalia

At approximately 2:45 pm yesterday afternoon, Trooper Nathan Abbott made a traffic stop on Interstate #64 West Bound near the 118 Mile Marker in Floyd County.

The traffic stop was on a white passenger car for a traffic infraction.

During the traffic stop Trooper Abbott sensed something was not right with a passenger in the vehicle identified as Ashley Nicole Shepherd, 24, from Morris Avenue in Corydon.  

Trooper Abbott deployed his K-9 Teague, who sniffed at the vehicle and made a positive indication for controlled substances in the vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle and the passenger identified above, yielded Heroin, Sertraline, (a Legend Drug), a white unidentified pill and Paraphernalia.

The driver was released but the back seat passenger, Ashley Nicole Shepherd, was arrested and charged with Possession of Heroin, Possession of a Legend Drug, Possession of a Syringe, Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Paraphernalia.

The arrested was incarcerated at the Floyd County Jail awaiting her first court appearance.
