This morning at approximately 11:30 am, Clarksville Town Police attempted to stop a Ford Mustang for expired license plates when the Mustang fled north on Interstate #65. The chase continued through Austin, where two Jeffersonville men were arrested.

The driver, Trevor Scott King, 29, from Hamburg Pike in Jeffersonville, was arrested by Scottsburg City Police on the charges of Driving While Suspended, Fleeing Law Enforcement, Criminal Recklessness and an out of county warrant. He was incarcerated at the Scott County Jail.
The passenger of the vehicle, Seth Tyler Willet, 27, from Camelot Court in Jeffersonville, was taken into custody by the Scottsburg City Police. He was transported to the Scott County Hospital for observation after he allegedly swallowed a controlled substance in an attempt to hide it from the police. Charges will be pending against him.
Troopers from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg joined the pursuit and chased the Mustang north on Interstate #65.
Troopers attempted to deploy stop sticks near the 28 Mile Marker near Scottsburg in Scott County, but the driver of the Mustang avoided the stop sticks.
The Mustang exited the Austin Exit, (Exit #34), and travelled east on State Road #256. At this point troopers called off the pursuit for safety reasons because the pursuit entered into heavy traffic and the direction of travel was towards the Austin schools.
The Mustang continued travelling on State Road #256 through Austin at a high rate of speed and when the Mustang left the city limits, the Austin City Police, the Scott County Sheriff’s Department and the Scottsburg City Police started pursuing the Mustang again.
As the Mustang exited State Road #256 at Bethlehem Road, (approximately four miles East of Austin), it pulled into a driveway near New Frankfort Road.
The occupants exited the Mustang and fled on foot where they were apprehended shortly after.
This investigation is continuing as troopers will be seeking charges in Clark County on both subjects. Troopers located alleged Marijuana beside Interstate #65 along the pursuit route that had allegedly been tossed out of the window of the vehicle as it was being pursued.
