Yesterday, Indiana State Police Detectives arrested a Greensburg, Indiana man on charges related to the releasing of confidential information while he was a dispatcher for Decatur County 911 and a registrar for the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Young Soo Sung

The investigation by Detective Joe Loyd began in January of this year when the Indiana State Police was notified that Young Soo Sung, age 33, Greensburg, Indiana had released confidential information while he was a dispatcher for Decatur County.

The investigation determined that while Sung was a dispatcher between September and December 2017, he obtained confidential information from electronic criminal investigative files utilized by the Greensburg Police Department and Decatur County Sheriff’s Department.

Sung then allegedly shared photographs and other information obtained in those files with acquaintances.

During the course of the investigation, it was determined that Sung also allegedly mishandled confidential information while he worked part-time as a registrar at the Decatur County Memorial Hospital.

Sung was removed from both positions as a result of the allegations.

At the conclusion of the investigation, the case was submitted to the Decatur County Prosecutor’s Office for review.  A warrant was then issued for the arrest of Young S. Sung.

Yesterday, Sung was arrested on a warrant for one count of official misconduct, level 6 felony, and two counts of offenses against intellectual property, level 6 felony.

The case is pending in the Decatur County Superior Court.
