David K. Greene, age 85 of Salem, Indiana passed away Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11:58 pm, in the Salem Crossing Nursing Home.
Born August 25, 1932 in Campbellsburg, Indiana, he was the son of the late Kelly Richard Greene and Susan Florence (Nicholson) Greene.
He married June 16, 1957 to Peggy A. (Rider) Greene, who passed away May 17, 2012. David was a life resident of Washington County, a graduate of Purdue University with a bachelors in Agricultural Engineering before graduating from I.U. with a Master’s degree in Education. David was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church.
He was a retired teacher with the West Washington School System and a member of the Indiana State Teachers Association.

Survivors include: 4 Sons: William J. Greene of Charlestown, Indiana, Kyle D. Greene of Salem, Ryan E. Greene of Salem, and Lynn M. Greene of Heltonville, Indiana. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren.
1 grandson: Jonathan Greene, 6 granddaughters: Cortney, Caitlyn, Emily, Molly, Lynessa and Lynnae Greene.
He was preceded in death by a son: Mark D. Greene and a sister: Norma Cooper.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Tuesday at Dawalt Funeral Home and 9 to 11 am Wednesday at New Hope United Methodist Church.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Wednesday at New Hope United Methodist Church with George Browning officiating.
Committal and interment will follow the service at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem.
