Matt Wayne Smedley, age 58 of Salem, Indiana passed away Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 9:18 pm, in St. Vincent Salem Hospital Salem, Indiana.
Born June 28, 1960 in Martinsville, Indiana, he was the son of the late Milo M. Smedley and Gloria Melvina (Roberts) Smedley, who survives.
He was a former owner of the old Smedley’s Body Shop and was currently an Electrician with Local #369.
He was a 1978 graduate of Salem High School, a member of the Salem Moose Lodge #2380, the Son’s of the Salem American Legion Cecil Grimes Post #41, the Salem V. F. W. and he loved riding his motorcycle.
On July 15, 1994 he married Belinda J. (Riley) Smedley, who survives.
Also surviving are: Daughter: Katelyn M. Smedley of Salem; Mother: Melvina Smedley of Salem; 2 Sisters: Dawn Lee of Mitchell and Lori (Jason) Gilstrap of Salem; 5 nephews, 1 niece and several great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bart Smedley.
Visitation: 4 to 8 pm Wednesday and 9 to 11 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Thursday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by interment in Crown Hill Cemetery.
