Lola E. DeHart, age 91 of Salem, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018,
in her residence.
Born September 30, 1927 in Borden, Indiana, she was the daughter of the
late Paul O. and Mary Ann (Pixley) Russell.
She was a retired employee of the old DeHart Drywall Company in
Columbus, Indiana and was a member of the Non Denominational Christian
Church. She had been a resident of Washington County for most of her
life and lived in Columbus, Indiana from 1980 to 2002. She was a 1945
graduate of Salem High School.
In 1946 Lola married Louis E. Bateman, who passed away Jan. 31, 1976.
In 1980 she married William “Bill” DeHart, who passed away August 13, 2003.
Survivors include: Son: Jeffrey D. (Terri) Bateman of Carlyle, Illinois;
3 Daughters: Sandra K. (Tom) McCleery of Ackworth, Georgia, Cheryl A.
(Dean Morris) Weber of Rockport, Indiana and Pauletta (Steve) Graves of
Pekin;
3 Very Special Neighbors: Tim Tipton, Liza and Isabella Cobbs;
13 Grandchildren: Kelly Griffin, Kraig McCleery, Brad Ratts, Casey
Graves, Krystal Harrell, Kimberly Gladden, Amy and Britney Bateman,
Scott Linton, Timm Smith and David, Brittney and Jessica DeHart;
15 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by 1 son Danny Lynn, 1 stepson, 1
stepdaughter, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and 1 granddaughter.
Funeral Service: 1:00 pm Wednesday at Dawalt Funeral Home followed by
interment in Olive Branch Cemetery.
Visitation: 10 am until the time of the service on Wednesday.
