Karen Dickerson, age 77 of Pekin, Indiana passed away Monday, January 14, 2019 at 11:00 pm, in Baptist Health Floyd New Albany, Indiana.
Born May 28, 1941 in New Albany, Indiana, she was the daughter of the late Willard Campbell and Thelma (Davis) Campbell.
On November 6, 1959 she married Russell L. Dickerson, who survives.
She had been a life resident of Washington County was a 1959 graduate of
Pekin High School, a member of the Eastern Star and she loved quilting, sewing, roosters and her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Pekin United Methodist Church and the Ladies Church Group.
She was an employee of the Pekin Town Utility Department for 27 years and was a former employee of the old Pekin Eggs in Salem, the old Campbell’s Grocery and the old Newlon’s Store, both in Pekin.

Daughter: Jan (James) Stone of Pekin, Indiana;
Son: Timothy Scott Dickerson of Pekin, Indiana;
Brother: Tommy Campbell of Pekin, Indiana;
Stepbrother: Gene Lewellen;
Stepbrother: Don Lewellen;
Stepbrother: Gary Lewellen;
Stepsister: Janet Hurst;
Stepsister: Carolyn Applegate.
She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Grandsons: Jaden (Britney) Stone of Pekin and Joey Stone;Granddaughters: Jaime (Chad) Farabee of New Albany; Jenna (Timothy) Combs of Pekin; and Amy Jo Campbell of New Albany.
She was preceded in death by:Brother Willard “Bill” Campbell and Brother Marvin Campbell,
Twin Brother: Keith Campbell.
Visitation: 3 to 8 pm Thursday and 9 to 11 am Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday at Dawalt Funeral Home with Mark Zerkel & Rev. Jerry Goodwin officiating.
Interment at Crown Hill Cemetery in Salem, Indiana.
