William Shakespeare’s comedy focuses on the love story between the witty and resourceful Rosalind and Orlando. After a take-over at the Royal Court, the tyrant Duke Frederick has staged a coup against the kind Duke Senior, banishing Duke Senior to the Forest of Arden.  Rosalind, the daughter of the banished Duke Senior, is left behind to be raised alongside her cousin Celia, the daughter of Duke Frederick.

All grown up, Rosalind falls in love with a young man named Orlando, but before she can even think twice about it, she is banished by Duke Frederick on penalty of death to never return. Thrown out of her home with Celia and Touchstone, the court’s fool, by her side, Rosalind dresses as a young man and changes her name to Ganymede to travel more safely in the wilderness.

Upon their arrival in the Forest of Arden, they encounter a cast of characters all in the pursuit of love, including Orlando who is fleeing the wrath of his eldest brother. Unable to reveal her true identity, Rosalind devises an elaborate scheme to set aright each couple’s woes and capture Orlando’s heart.
