Bedford Man Arrested for Dealing Meth and Additional Drug Charges

A 57-year-old Bedford man was arrested for dealing Meth and additional drug charges during traffic stop. 

Christopher D. Cox, 57 of Bedford was arrested for the following offenses:

  1. Dealing Methamphetamine, Level 2 Felony
  2. Possession of Methamphetamine between 10 and 28 grams, Level 4 Felony
  3. Possession of Controlled Substance, A Misdemeanor (two counts)
  4. Possession of Marijuana, B Misdemeanor
  5. Possession of Paraphernalia, C Misdemeanor

Cox was incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail.

On March 21st, just after midnight, Indiana State Police Sergeant Greg Day and Trooper Chance Humphrey conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet van along State Road 37 in Judah for multiple traffic infractions. 

During the course of the traffic stop several criminal activity indicators were observed and the driver was then identified as Cox.

Trooper Cory Knight assisted with the stop, as did Mitchell Police Officer Shaun Cabral. Officer Cabral deployed his canine, Ido, who gave a positive alert on the vehicle.

Officers located over 16 grams of methamphetamine, marijuana, controlled substance pills, and drug paraphernalia.  In addition, evidence of dealing methamphetamine was recovered.
