Two From Mitchell Arrested For Dealing Heroin Dealing

On Friday, May 10th, Indiana State Police and the Mitchell Police Department investigated a report of heroin dealing on Moffatt Road in Mitchell.

During the investigation, probable cause was obtained that led to the issuance of a search warrant for the residence. Indiana State Police DES Detectives, Mitchell Police Officers Shawn Cabral and Ryan Duckett, along with ISP Detective Zach Robbins, Sgt. Greg Day, and Trp. Chris Griggs executed the search warrant. 

The search resulted in the seizure of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and other evidence of dealing.

In addition, it was discovered the drug dealing taking place was allegedly in the presence of a small child under the age of five. The Department of Child Services was contacted and arrangements were made for the safety of the child.

After the search warrant was executed and interviews of the suspects were completed, the following arrests were made;

Jacob Roach (22 yrs old of Mitchell)

  1. Dealing Heroin, Level 4 Felony
  2. Possession of Heroin, Level 6 Felony
  3. Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 Felony

Carmyn Goodman (21 yrs old of Mitchell)

  1. Possession of Heroin, Level 6 Felony
  2. Neglect of a Dependent, Level 6 Felony

Both Roach and Goodman were incarcerated at the Lawrence County Jail.  This investigation is continuing and it is expected that further charges will be forthcoming.
