The Indiana Department of Transportation has reopened I-265 EB in Floyd County after it was closed between Charlestown Road and I-65 early Wednesday morning due to a sinkhole.
A number of motorists reported a large pothole on I-265 EB Tuesday night, causing Indiana State Police to close the affected lane. After further investigation, a sinkhole was found underneath the roadway, prompting a full closure of eastbound lanes.
MAC Construction was on site all day and into the evening Wednesday, working to repair the roadway
