The 2019 Washington County Farmers-Merchants Fair will kick off in Salem on Friday, June 14 with checking in of 4H projects, amusement rides, and the Washington County Teen Pageant.
Fair Board President Seth Purlee said at the last fair board meeting that the amusement company was arriving in Salem early so they decided to set up and offer rides earlier than ever before.
However, Purlee pointed out, the 3-Day ride bracelet special (now available at the Fair Board Office and Mid-Southern Savings Bank) will only be good for Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, June 17, 18 and 19.
The Teen Pageant will be Friday evening at Salem Middle School at 7p. Tickets are $7 for adults and $4 for children 6-12.
The annual baby contest will be Saturday afternoon at 1p at the Bradie M. Shrum Elementary School. Registration is at noon with the contest beginning at 1p.
The theme is “Heroes All Around.” Entry fee is $6 per child. Admission is $4 per person.
The Washington County Fair Parade will take place Saturday evening at 6p. Rides will open on the midway at 7p.
The 60th Annual Washington County Queen Pageant will be Sunday evening at 7p at the Salem Middle School at 7p.
