James Glen Applegate, age 54, of Palmyra, passed away Sunday, December 20 at Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany.
Applegate was born August 1, 1966, in Louisville, Kentucky the son of Glen and Patricia Beasley Applegate.
Jim was the minister for Westview Christian Church in Campbellsburg for 21 years.
Jim loved singing and barbershop music. He was a member of the Kentucky Vocal Union and Barbershop Harmony Society.
He was a former employee of WSLM.
Jim is survived by his wife: Ann Conrad Applegate of Palmyra.
They were married on December 22, 2007.
He is also survived by his children: Nicholas Applegate (Mariah) of Campbellsburg, Andrew Applegate of Louisville, Samantha Applegate of Louisville, Haylee McNeill (Sebastian) of Palmyra and Mariah Mattingly (Kyle) of New Salisbury, a brother: Scott Applegate (Kim) of Pekin, a sister: Marijane Crofford of New Albany, and five grandchildren who were his world: Clayton, Lakelynn, Hansley, Caison, and Harrison.
Jim was preceded in death by his father: Glen Applegate in 2011.
Jim’s mother, Pat, joined him in Heaven on Monday, December 21.
Visitation and funeral services for Jim and Pat will be held concurrently at Westview Christian Church on Saturday, December 26.
Visitation will be from 9 AM-7 PM and the services will be at 7PM with Nicholas Applegate officiating.
For those not comfortable attending in person, the service will be live-streamed on the Westview Christian Church Facebook page and online condolences can be left for the family on the Weathers Funeral Home website.
Due to mandates, only 50 people will be allowed in the building at one time for visitation, and masks are required to be worn by all those attending.
